About the Area

A chic and exclusive residential area which begins to rise up the hill just beyond Nice’s Port and spreads along the coast and inland for around 2km, dominating Nice’s Eastern Coast and the Corniche leading to Villefranche. Famous for the stars who have chosen to make their home here as well as its glorious 57 hectares of wooded parkland, both Mont Boron and Mont Alban exude class and restraint.

The properties are mainly bougainvillea-covered villas dating to the Belle Epoque or more modern apartment blocks with terraces and fantastic views – usually with guardians and parking. To get to Mont-Boron from the centre of Nice you need to drive, take public transport, or enjoy a walk alongside the lush Meditarranean greenery while you take in the ornate villas and the discrete residences.

The view of Nice from here is remarkable and indeed, many of the post cards offering views of the Côte d’Azur are taken from this very spot. The singer Elton John chose this spot for his fabulous villa - it is hidden away on the top of Mont-Alban which neighbours Mont Boron. Prices reflect the exclusivity of the area and you are unlikely to find a small 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony or terrace and good views here for under 500 000 euros. According to the September 2007 issue of France’s Capital magazine, prices in Mont Boron start at around 7000 euros per m2 and rise to almost 11 000 euros per m2 if you have views over Cap Ferrat.
